It’s Been A While, Huh?
It has been a while, huh?
Like most of you, I had some plans this year, specifically plans for Entertainment Democracy.
Events were planned, reviews to write and forward progress would be made. But you know COVID-19.
I think it is probably taking to time to pause and reflect and say if the worst your life was affected by the pandemic then you got off light. People have lost jobs and health and even loved ones and that is brutal. Some of those things that will cause pain long after many of us have forgotten 2020.
Still any with a shred of empathy doesn’t need a lecture from a pop culture blog about this stuff.
It’s been very quiet around the site for most of 2020 and a lot of that has nothing to do with the pandemic. Between Uni, learning to become a wedding celebrant and a bit of a writing funk. We’ve occasionally checked in with a watchcast but hardly with a great deal of consistency. That’s on me.
Still with new consoles out in a few weeks, some pretty solid viewing on streaming and a bit of free time my hands, I’m making a commitment to content, at least once a week.
So let’s break it down what’s happening:
- New website content weekly: As I’ve said I have the writing bug so lets see if I can churn out something at least once a week.
- New website and domain: Entertainment Democracy was a bit of a mouthful and an rsi injury when typing the domain. So people naturally shortened it to entdem and so that’s where you’ll find us now at entdem.org. We are still using WordPress but moved over to wordpress.com which has also given us this shiny new look. Feel free to leave us thought and the like. We will migrate the majority of content over soon enough.
- New Events: This is a tough one, I don’t think there will be any game nights for a while. If we are being COVID safe and responsible the work involved would be a bit much. From constant cleaning of surfaces and controllers to masks to contact tracing to social distancing. It’s pretty intense for a casual gaming night. Maybe we can do something virtually.
So onwards and upwards.
Steve.
P.S. I’ve put up a review of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and The Haunting of Bly Manor so check them out.
